Charlie and I decided since we have no furniture in our apartment:), that we would go out to dinner on our anniversary. We went to Texas Roadhouse to marvel in memories of how we met:) We shared a delicious kabob and then headed back to the apartment to open up our wedding cake topper and 20 year old bottle of champagne that Charlie's grandfather gave us.
Unfortunately, after tug and pull and pry and cut and saw on this weird plastic cork thing---we had no such luck of even getting the bottle open. So we moved on to a bottle of Moscato we already had in the fridge. Guess we'll save that one for next time.We then ventured to get into the cake that my mother had so incredibly
wrapped and wrapped and bagged and foiled and covered in the freezer for the last year. We had hoped for the best, expecting the worst.Much to our dismay... it was actually quite good!! Thanks Mom for preserving such a wonderful cake! What an incredible end to our fasting of sweets. It was well worth the 6 month wait.
