Rain Retreat!

The Schwerkoskes and us decided we wanted to get out of town for the weekend. The Andersons were so kind to offer their condo to us in Burnsville, NC, for just the occasion. Located in the Smokies, we were ready for some hiking adventures. The weather didn't cooperate but we went in the rain any way! We hiked up to see Linville Falls. It was beautiful and the Lord gave Chris the opportunity to share Christ and even sent a double rainbow! We rested, cooked, hiked, and spent the last day in Asheville checking out the sights. Our first vacation away with friends!

Some guy just rafted down it for the first time ever. Apparently, he got fined $50. Ha!

Paint along Nashville

Charlie is so funny. He bought a groupon for "Paint Along Nashville." Basically, each day this place has a different painting and they walk you through step by step on how to paint it. I was not so excited about going due to my artistic ability in the paint/drawing category being quite lacking. BUT, I had a ball! Us logical people could even do this. It was laid back, the instructor very helpful, and the abstractness even allowed for you to play around with the paint. We had a Sunday afternoon date painting together. It was so therapeutic. Now, our paintings are hanging in our living room. Go figure!
