The Art of Depressing Movies

Yesterday, we took a field trip to the Western Conservation of Art. We there learned about the enemies of art and the proper handling of million dollar pieces. It was quite interesting to find out that humidity is one of the biggest factors for ruining art. It can cause all sorts of things such as mold, waviness in the canvas, and even water spots if very high in humidity. We learned about different insects that like to feed on art, about the varnishes painters use, and how to use a black light to see if there were any touch ups made to a painting before buying it as an original. Quite fascinating.

The rest of the day consisted of a cleaning video, talking about life balance, and watching an absolutley depressing movie called "Remains of the Day." You would think with big names such as Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson, Christopher Reeve, and even Hugh Grant, it would be a good movie. The acting of course was fantastic but the story line left you with a horrible taste in your mouth. If you ever wanted to know what not to do in the private service industry, watch this movie. Otherwise, watch it when you are in a depressing mood. It won't cheer you up.

  1. Hope you are not depressed anymore. As for cookie art... Traci loved her flip flop cookies! They are being eyed by every customer that comes in to NY&co.
