There are few words to describe the strange mod podge of a weekend that we had but suffice to say-- it was fun. Saturday started off by a 20 lap swim, followed by an afternoon nap in preparation for Charlie's company end of the year party at Grand Station in downtown Arlington Heights. Company parties are usually (and this one no exception) quite awkward at worst and tolerable at best. We made the most of it though and laughed at the "kids table" as we sat with the only other people there under the age of 30. It topped it off when, Charlie's coworker, Napun, ordered a virgin pina colada. It was awesome.
Sunday, we got up early and drove through the rain to see Charlie's office manager, Laura, and her family at Dupage University. Her daughter, Maria, plays club volleyball in the 12 and 13 year old division. I have to say that it was a blast though. I forgot how much I miss volleyball and have determined that I must find a league in the spring. We stayed til 2ish and then headed over to Napun's house to watch the Colts win and eat some delicious Indian food and drink tea:). My sister, April, would be so proud. We topped off the evening with Panera Bread and perusing of Barnes and Noble. We hadn't been there since we left Tyler and enjoyed it thoroughly. I even found an anatomy book that had diagrams of all the bodily systems for 10 bucks. It even folds out. I felt like such a geek when I found it in the bargain section, but its going to help enormously in my studying.
